AdaGPT: Using AI to Review Pitch Decks
A preview of how innovative VC firms will use technology
A short post today and quick announcement: I’ve joined the wonderful team at Ada Ventures and alongside the announcement, we’ve launched AdaGPT!
You can read all about it at Tech EU in this article and interview. For my newsletter readers, I’d like to share a bit more about AdaGPT and the implications and direction of travel for the future of VC.

Why AdaGPT?
Investors receive thousands of pitch decks every year and it’s impossible for a VC to thoroughly read and meaningfully respond to all of them. If they tried to do that, they would lose time for other activities, such as outbound deal sourcing, portfolio management, and fundraising.
However, actionable feedback can be useful to founders. For example, if a particular company isn’t the right fit for a fund’s investment thesis, or if the deck is missing key information that an investor requires, equipping the founder with that knowledge in a timely fashion can improve their prospects.
This is why we built AdaGPT. It’s a beta product to test a simple idea: Is it possible to use technology to scale the ability of VC firms to help founders? In the case of AdaGPT, we asked: Can this tool help entrepreneurs quickly sense-check whether their pitch has the right elements to engage an investor?
The Future of VC: Nimble Teams Powered by Technology
When I started out in the industry around 7-8 years ago, lots of firms were still using spreadsheets as a CRM tool. Although VCs were investing in tech startups, they were hardly using tech in their businesses, let alone launch any type of technology product.
This has started to change. For instance, although just 1% of VC firms have internal engineering teams or initiatives to be more tech & data-driven (Seven Seven Six are a fantastic example of this), the tooling available today makes building a tech-first VC firm more accessible than ever.
This is a trend I’m excited about. At Ada Ventures, I have the opportunity to not only invest in pre-seed startups but to also build internal and external-facing products using the very same tools that many of the startups themselves use.
I look forward to sharing more about this and if you’re doing work in this area and would like to chat, get in touch!
I just tried this out, and came here to say I found it pretty helpful! It had that AI tendency to be very positive, but perhaps that's just our great deck... Thanks for building it.
Interestingly, while some VC firms publicly distance themselves from AI-driven tools for pitch deck analysis, it's clear that many are quietly leveraging these tools behind the scenes. This raises an important conversation: how do we shift the perception of AI from being seen as "cheating" to embracing it as a powerful tool in the decision-making process?
I’m keen to see how AdaGPT evolves and shapes this trend further. Congratulations on joining the Ada Ventures team—looking forward to seeing what’s next!
